My Type 2 Remission Log
In February 2023, my blood sugar was 343 and my A1C was 12.5%. My dad died with complications from diabetes at 57; I was 54 and scared I was next. Three years later my A1C is 5.8%, I’ve lost 120+ pounds, and I’m 58: one year past the age he never got past. I did it with low-carb eating, daily walking, and tracking every number and without Ozempic or any GLP-1 drug.
I still take metformin, so I’m well-controlled; I’m not technically in remission yet. That’s the goal I’m working toward, and this is the log of getting there: my real lab sheets, what worked, and what didn’t.
